GBL Adds BC Team


Victoria Seals to Take the Field in 2009

The Golden Baseball announced the addition of a team in Victoria, British Columbia for the 2009 season.  The team, to be named the Victoria Seals, will play in historic Royal Athletic Park, built in 1925.  The team will be owned by Russ and Darren Parker, long time owners of the Calgary Cannons who moved to Albuquerque before the 2003 season.  The Seals will be the GBL’s third Canadian team.

With Victoria, the official number of GBL teams stand at 10 although few, if anybody, expects the Reno Silver Sox to be taking the field in 2009.
