California League Divisional

The Stockton Ports and San Jose Giants were entangled in a tight and exciting series.  Three games decided by one run with the other decided by two, three late inning comebacks, and a game five showdown Wednesday night.  In this game, however, Stockton scored seven runs in the first two innings and never looked back in route to a 9-4 victory over the Giants in San Jose.  Meanwhile, Lancaster answered Lake Elsinore’s five runs in the third inning with six of their own as they beat the Storm 10-8 in Lancaster.  With the victories, Lancaster and Stockton have earned the right to play each other in the California League championship series, which begins tonight in Stockton.

Shameless, self-promotion note:  CaProParks picked Stockton to take the North and Lancaster to take the South in our minor league season preview.  Read the preview here.

Pacific Coast League Championship

Sacramento lost game two to the Oklahoma RedHawks 11-2 on Wednesday night.  With the loss, the series is tied 1-1 heading to Oklahoma.  Game three will be played Friday in Oklahoma City.

Golden Baseball League Championship

Orange County took game two from the Calgary Vipers 13-1 to tie the series 1-1.  Game three will be played Friday at Mazmanian Field on the Campus of Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, rather than the Flyers regular home at Goodwin Field in Fullerton.  A concert is being held at Goodwin Field causing the temporary relocation.  Game four and game five (if needed) will be played at the Orange County’s regular home field.
