Fireworks Not Just for 4th AnymoreFriday, March 21, 2008 If you are planning to attend a minor league game on a Friday or Saturday night and plan on just showing up to purchase your tickets at the ticket office, you may want to take a quick peek at the team’s schedule for any after game extracurricular activity. Teams have become increasingly dependent on fireworks as a way to draw fans into the stadium. It seems to work as evidenced by the increase in firework dates over the last few years. Unfortunately, there are probably more than a few kids out there who think fireworks happen after every minor league game. Nevertheless, nothing would be worse than driving 45 minutes only to see the “Soldout” sign hanging in the box office window. If you are going to a fireworks game. Here are two tips: 1) buy your tickets ahead of time, or 2) get to the game a few minutes earlier than usual. Chances are tickets will still be available at first pitch, but why risk it?
