River Cats ClinchSacramento Clinches PCL South on SaturdayMonday, August 25, 2008 The Sacramento River Cats clinched the Pacific Coast League Pacific South Division title on Saturday with a win over the Fresno Grizzlies and a loss by the Las Vegas 51s. The River Cats beat Fresno 7-4 at Chukchansi Park, while the Las Vegas lost 7-6 in 10 innings to the Sky Sox in Colorado Springs. This is Sacramento's seventh division title in its nine seasons in Sacramento. The River Cats have won the PCL championship in 2003, 2004 and 2007. Sacramento will face the Pacific North Division champions for the right to play for the PCL title in a five game series likely to start September 3. Currently, the Salt Lake Bees hold a 5 game league over the Tacoma Rainiers for the Pacific North Division, with just over a week left in the season.
