Long Beach's Parrish Picked Up by Rockies

Catcher Returns to Organization that Cut Him

Friday, June 13, 2008

The Golden Baseball League announced earlier this week that the Colorado Rockies have acquired the contract of catcher David Parrish.  The former first round pick by the Yankees was highly touted as one of the key aquisitions by the Long Beach Armada during the offseason.  Parrish, who play last season in the Pirates organization, was cut by the Rockies during Spring Training.  Parrish was assigned to the Tulsa Drillers, the Rockies Double A affiliate in the Texas League.  He batted .344 going 11-32 with three home runs for the Armada this season.
