Lights Go Out on Fresno

Game postponed because of power failure.

Thursday, May 22, 2008

Wednesday night’s game between the Fresno Grizzlies and Salt Lake Bees was postponed to a power outage at Chukchansi Park.  The outage occurred at 7:00 pm just as both managers were exchanging line up cards at home plate and five minutes before the scheduled start.  By 7:30, officials made the decision to postpone the game.  The cause of the blackout was not known, but is believed to be an issue with PG&E and not the ballpark equipment.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader (two 7 inning games) to be held Saturday July 19th.  Fans with tickets to Wednesday’s game can exchange them for any Grizzlies home game except the July 4 game and fireworks display.  By my book, two 7 innings games sound just about right for a doubleheader.
