Email: I am moving from Florida back to Washington, and plan on visiting a friend in Los Angeles along the way. If I can go to only one game, which should I go to?
Heather (A Mariners Fan)
Shabram: I assuming from your email that you are asking should you go to an Angels game or a Dodgers game. The answer, of course, is largely dictated by team schedule when you are in town. If you can, definitely treat yourself to a Dodgers game. Not a bad view in the house, and in my opinion, the best of the big league stadiums in the state.
If you are coming across country on Interstate 10, you could also hit minor league games in San Bernardino (Inland Empire) or Rancho Cucamonga without going more than a few minutes out of your way (depending on where your friend lives in L.A). Since you are a Mariners fan, you may even be able to catch a High Desert Mavericks at one of these stadiums. The Mavericks are the Mariners Single A Advanced affiliate. There is a good change you will be seeing one or more of these players in a Mariners uniform within the next couple of years.
Better than catching the Mavs on the road, consider a side trip, maybe even on your way out of L.A. to Washington, to visit the Mavs at their home in Adelanto, which is off Insterstate 15 near Victorville. You may also be able to catch the Mavericks play at Bakersfield, Modesto, or Stockton along the way (again depending on schedule as well as which route you plan on taking up north).
