Angels Star to Rahab with Quakes
John Lackey is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Blaze

Quite often, Single-A baseball gives you the opportunity to see rehabbing major leaguers up close and in the intimate confines of a minor league stadium. Every so often, that major leaguer is a genuine standout in “the show.” Fans at Thursday’s game in Rancho Cucamonga will get such an opportunity as Angels starter John Lackey, coming off a 19 win season in 2007 with the Halos, begins a planned two week rehab assignment with the Quakes. Lackey is scheduled to start Thursday’s game against the Bakersfield Blaze. Lackey, who has been on the disabled list since the start of the season with a strained right triceps, finished third in American League Cy Young voting for the 2007 season.
