The California League all-star team defeated their Carolina League counterparts Tuesday night with a 4-3 victory at BB&T Coastal Field in Myrtle Beach.  The winning run came in the top of the ninth with a two-out RBI single by Stockton's Stephen Parker off the glove the shortstop Greg Miclat of the Frederick Keys.

San Jose's Juan Perez was named the Major League Baseball Advanced Media Top Star for the California League.  Salem second baseman Oscar Tejeda was awarded the honors for the Carolina League.

The game was dominated by strong pitching performances on both sides.  A total of 18 pitchers were used, nine on each team.  The victory went to Visalia Rawhide's Bryan Woodall, who pitched a perfect eighth inning.  The save went to Lake Elsinore's Brad Brach.  Jose Duran of the Frederick took the loss.

In the 15-year history of the all-star game between the two leagues, the game was the first back to back victory by the California League.  The Californians took the 2009 All-Star Game 2-1 in 10 innings.
