Playoff Update


San Jose, High Desert Take Game 1, Sacramento to go for Three-Peat

In action on Saturday. the San Jose Giants took game 1 of the best of five against the Cinderella Bakersfield Blaze with a 1-0 shutout in the best of five North Division championship in the California League.  High Desert did the same to Rancho Cucamonga with a 5-0 shoutout in the South Division.  Both series resume tonight.   Meanwhile in the Pacific Coast League, the Sacramento River Cats took game five from the Tacoma Rainiers , and the River Cats took game 4 from Tacoma to win the Pacific Conference championship three games to one and move onto the Pacific Coast League Championship with a chance for a three-peat.  The River Cats will play the Memphis Redbirds who took a three game sweep from Albuquerque in the American Conference.
