Three Pitchers Combine for No-Hitter in San Jose


Six innings pitched by David Mixon on just his second start.

Reliever David Mixon wanted a chance to start.  Suggesting the a place in the rotation to manager Andy Skeels as a way to rest the regular starters, Mixon got his chance.  Then on Thursday, in just his second start, Mixon just may have earned himself more.  Mixon went six hitless innings striking out 10.  Ryan Shaver and Rafael Cova completed the no-hitter in the 3-0 victory over Inland Empire.
