The Most Dominant Team in BaseballThe San Jose Giants are enjoying another amazing season.Tuesday, July 28, 2009
A couple weeks ago, the San Jose Giants lost one of their stars when Buster Posey earned a well deserved promotion to Triple-A Fresno. How did the Giants respond? By going 9-4. These days, that’s modest for the Giants. After storming from behind to take the first half title with a 42-28 record, the Giants have sustained a hot streak that has given them a 26-6 record to start the second half, and an impressive 9 game lead in the North. Combined, the team’s record is 88-34, a full 54 games over .500. That far exceeds any record by any other team in any United States based professional baseball league. Many of the victories haven’t even been close with numbers like 17-7, 14-5, 11-2, and 7-1. The Giants are the class of the Single-A Advanced, and very well could be better than most Double-A teams. Of course, that begs the question, are the Giants too good for this level? Should perhaps more of their players be promoted? Is this really a squad filled with Double-A or even Triple-A level talent? The complaints have been made publically by other teams that see the perennial contender Giants as simply a team stacked with prospects that in other organization would have been promoted by now. Yet with teams at just about every level in the Giants farm system succeeding this season, including Double-A Connecticut at 58-44 and 7.5 games in first place in the Eastern League Norhern, a case could be made that the Giants don’t have a lot of room to place players. Even Fresno, the one team in the Giants organization that seems to struggle from season to season, has a respectable 54-48 record and is in second place in the PCL Pacific South. It also could very well be the strategy of the Giants to let players develop by performing well at certain levels, rather than struggle at higher levels; or perhaps the Giants like to keep their best prospects close to home. Maybe the San Jose Giants management deserves some credit for putting out a quality product year after year. Whatever the reason, the San Jose Giants are consistently one of the most successful teams at their level in Minor League Baseball, and they are in the middle of a great season.

Hi, I'm from Stockton.I'm a Stockton Ports fan.I've seen San Jose win the first half every year or both halves.I feel that they keep their best prospects all year without any promotions.I bet these players are playing AA or AAA level on the Giants roster. While other clubs move their best players up to the next level,San Jose keeps their players all season.I'm sick and tired of this. Its not right and its not fair for other clubs and their players.I have to admit,I can't stand the San Jose Giants organization. My last word on this,GO STOCKTON PORTS.We just did a three-game sweep on them on July 28,29,and 30.......
