Chico Stars Have Good Week

Team struggles on the field, but several players were recognized for their achievements.

Friday, July 17, 2009

What a week to be a Chico Outlaw.  First, six players from the Outlaws were part of the North squad that took the All-Star game 9-6 over their South counterparts on Tuesday night.  Then LHP Donald Brandt has his contract sold to the Milwaukee Brewers during the All-Star game.  Finally outfielder Truan Mehl, who went 4-5 with three doubles, three runs scored, and three RBI's, was named most valuable player of the game.

The Outlaws could maintain their string of succes, with a pair of losses to the Calgary Vipers on Thursday and Friday night.  Safe to say, however, that for a couple of Outlaws, it was a great week.
