The Los Angeles Dodger promoted former Inland Empire Manager John Valentin to their new Double AA affiliate in Chattanooga, and replaced him with Carlos Subero.

Visalia’s professional baseball club announced their new name, the Visalia Rawhide, along with new colors, logo, uniforms, and even mascot. The team’s new moniker continues a trend of paying tribute to the local dairy community.

2008 Baseball Season in California Comes to a Close

With the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies last night, the professional baseball season in California officially came to an end, as Phillies closed out the best of seven set four games to one. If someone had told me in April that Los Angeles would come to within three games of the World Series, I would have assumed they were talking about the Angels, not the Dodgers.
